Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Introduction
Phone Off Yourself ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.
2. Data We Collect
Information you provide
- Your name — entered when you first open the app. Used to identify you to friends you connect with.
Data collected automatically
- Email address — required to access the beta. Used to send you a sign-in link and to identify your account. No password is stored.
- User ID — assigned by Firebase Authentication when you sign in with your email link.
- Screen time data — total daily and weekly phone usage time, collected via Android's Usage Stats API.
- App usage data — names and usage duration of apps on your device, collected to show you per-app breakdowns and share with friends.
Device permissions we request
- Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) — required to read how long you and other apps are used. This is the core feature of the app. Data is only read and synced while the app is active or via a background sync job.
- Internet access — to sync your stats to our servers and retrieve your friends' data.
